HydroPower has been used since ancient times to grind flour and perform other tasks. Rigel’s HydroGen Technology has harnessed this very same concept to rotate a micro turbine which in turn spins a miniature dynamo to generate electricity. This electricity is then stored in a rechargeable secondary battery and used to power the electronics required for Rigel’s Sensor Tap and other sanitaryware devices.
The HydroPower technology enables our devices to be self-powered and this saves electricity as the energy is generated internally when water passes through the hydro generator. So, in summary it is converting the flow of water within the pipe to produce and generate electrical energy.
